Vitamin D, 25-Hydroxy

$0.00$68.00

The Vitamin D test and 25-Hydroxy test measure Vitamin D levels and its metabolites in the body, respectively. Vitamin D plays a critical role in many processes, such as bone and muscle health, and a deficiency of it can lead to health complications. The 25-Hydroxy test is a better way of assessing an individual’s Vitamin D status than the Vitamin D test alone.

Description

Vitamin D and 25-Hydroxy tests are both important blood tests that measure the levels of Vitamin D and metabolites of Vitamin D in a person’s body. Vitamin D is an essential nutrient involved in many important processes, including the maintenance of healthy bones, teeth, muscles, and nerves. The 25-Hydroxy test is a more accurate measure of Vitamin D status in the body than a Vitamin D test alone. The 25-Hydroxy test uses the amount of Vitamin D’s metabolites in the blood to estimate Vitamin D status. This test is important to assess an individual’s health because low levels of Vitamin D (known as Vitamin D deficiency) can lead to health complications such as weak bones, teeth, and muscles, as well as an increased risk of certain diseases, such as cancer. Additionally, Vitamin D is necessary for the body to absorb calcium, and therefore is important in maintaining healthy bones.
