FSH and LH tests measure hormone levels in the body and their effects on health. FSH is a hormone from the pituitary gland that influences egg production in women and sperm formation in men. LH helps control the release of eggs from the ovaries in women and stimulates testosterone production in men, and high or low levels of these hormones can indicate various medical conditions.

Description

FSH (Follicle Stimulating Hormone) and LH (Luteinizing Hormone) tests are used to help assess levels of hormones in the body and their effect on the body. FSH is a hormone produced by the pituitary gland in the brain which helps to regulate the reproductive system in both men and women. FSH plays an important role in the production of eggs in women, and stimulating the development of sperm in men. LH is the other hormone produced by the pituitary gland. LH helps to control the release of eggs from the ovaries in women, and promotes the production of testosterone in men. These tests are important because they can help to determine if an individual has an imbalance of FSH and LH levels. This imbalance could indicate a problem with the reproductive system such as infertility or testosterone deficiency. The tests can also help to check for certain types of cancer and other conditions such as polycystic ovary syndrome, hypogonadism, and pituitary disorders. In addition, they can help to diagnose certain hormone-related issues such as early puberty, delayed puberty, and menopause. By measuring the levels of these hormones in an individual’s blood, a doctor can get an idea of the hormones in the body and how they are affecting an individual’s overall health.
