Description

Folate (also known as Folic Acid) and Serum tests are laboratory tests that are used to evaluate someone’s overall health. Folate tests measure the amount of folic acid, a B-vitamin, present in the body. Folic acid is very important for cell growth and for the development of red blood cells, so measuring its levels can help doctors evaluate a person’s nutritional status and/or diagnose certain diseases and conditions. Serum tests measure levels of other substances in the body, such as proteins, hormones, electrolytes, lipids, glucose, and minerals. These tests can be used to help diagnose and monitor diseases and conditions, such as cancer, kidney and liver diseases, bacterial infections, and diabetes. Both Folate and Serum tests are important for assessing an individual’s health because they provide key information about the body’s nutrition levels, hormone levels, and the presence of other conditions and diseases.
