Estradiol is a hormone found in both men and women that is necessary for proper metabolic functions. A sensitive test can be done to measure the amount of estradiol present in the blood and determine any underlying health issues or hormonal imbalances. This information can be used to diagnose conditions such as menopause, fertility problems, low sex drive, erectile dysfunction, and infertility, as well as track a patient’s response to treatments.

Description

Estradiol and Sensitive tests are used to assess an individual’s hormone levels. Estradiol is a type of estrogen, a hormone found in both men and women that plays a role in puberty, reproduction, and the maintenance of healthy bones. The sensitive test measures the amount of estradiol in the blood. This test is important because it can give insight into a person’s hormonal balance, which can help diagnose any underlying health issues. For women, it can help detect early signs of menopause or fertility issues. For men, it can help determine the cause of low sex drive, erectile dysfunction, or infertility. Estradiol levels can also give medical professionals a better understanding of how the body is responding to medications or treatments.
