Description

The “New – Weight Loss Panel – Female” and their significance in the context of Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT):

  1. Comprehensive Metabolic Panel (CMP) 14: This is a series of tests that check your liver and kidney function, blood sugar levels, electrolytes, and more. It’s used to ensure that your body is handling HRT well and staying healthy overall.
  2. CBC (Complete Blood Count) with Diff/Plate: This test measures different types of blood cells and can detect a range of conditions, from anemia to infection. It’s important to ensure that your overall blood health remains stable during HRT.
  3. Lipid Panel, Standard: This checks the levels of fats in your blood, like cholesterol. Since hormone levels can influence cholesterol, this is vital for monitoring heart health during HRT.
  4. TSH (Thyroid-Stimulating Hormone): This hormone helps regulate your thyroid, which controls your metabolism. The test is important to see if HRT is affecting your thyroid function.
  5. Calcitonin, Serum: Calcitonin helps regulate calcium and bone health. This test is used to ensure that your bones are staying healthy during HRT.
  6. Hemoglobin A1c: This test shows your average blood sugar levels over the past few months. It’s important for women on HRT, especially if there’s a risk of diabetes, as hormone levels can affect blood sugar.
  7. Triiodothyronine (T3), Free: This measures the level of T3, an active thyroid hormone, providing insight into your metabolic health and how it may be influenced by HRT.
  8. Thyroid Antibodies: These tests check for autoimmune disorders that target the thyroid, which can be important to know when managing HRT.
