The Lipid Cascade test measures levels of cholesterol and triglycerides in the blood, which can indicate an individual’s risk for developing chronic health problems such as stroke, heart attack, and diabetes. The test evaluates both “good” and “bad” cholesterol, and triglyceride levels in order to determine the individual’s overall health status.

Description

The Lipid Cascade tests measure an individual’s levels of cholesterol and triglycerides in the blood. High levels of these substances in the blood can lead to an increased risk for a variety of chronic health problems, including stroke, heart attack, and diabetes. Cholesterol and triglycerides are both fats that are made up of lipids, and can be either “good” (HDL cholesterol) or “bad” (LDL cholesterol). The Lipid Cascade test measures levels of both good and bad cholesterol, as well as triglycerides, in order to assess an individual’s overall health. By measuring levels of these substances in the blood, doctors and other medical professionals can assess the individual’s risk for developing any of the chronic health problems mentioned above. Thus, a Lipid Cascade test is an essential tool for determining an individual’s health status and can help to prevent the onset of chronic, and potentially life-threatening, conditions.
