Description

The Existing Viking Weight Loss Patient Adding HRT – Female panel is a collection of blood tests tailored for women undergoing Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT), especially when combined with weight loss goals. Here’s a simplified explanation of each test and why it’s important in this context:

  1. Estradiol: This test measures the level of estradiol, a form of estrogen, which is a key hormone in women’s health. It’s important for regulating menstrual cycles, mood, and bone health. In HRT, maintaining the right level of estradiol is crucial.
  2. Testosterone, Total: Though typically associated with men, testosterone is also important in women for bone strength, mood regulation, and libido. This test monitors testosterone levels, which is useful in HRT to maintain hormonal balance.
  3. Progesterone: This hormone plays a key role in the menstrual cycle and pregnancy. In HRT, balancing progesterone with other hormones like estrogen is important for managing symptoms and overall health.
