Description

The Existing Viking HRT Patient Adding Weight Loss – Female panel is a collection of blood tests tailored for women undergoing Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT), especially when combined with weight loss goals. Here’s a simplified explanation of each test and why it’s important in this context:

  1. Calcitonin, Serum: Calcitonin is involved in regulating calcium and bone metabolism. This test is particularly relevant in HRT, as hormone fluctuations can affect bone density.
  2. Hemoglobin A1c: This test measures average blood sugar levels over the past two to three months. It’s important for women on HRT, especially those with or at risk for diabetes, as hormones can influence blood sugar control.
  3. Triiodothyronine (T3), Free: This measures free T3, an active thyroid hormone, which is crucial for understanding your metabolic health. This is particularly relevant for weight management in the context of HRT.
  4. Thyroid Antibodies: These tests detect autoimmune conditions that target the thyroid, which can be important for managing HRT and understanding how it affects your body.
